Narragansett

Explore all that Narragansett has to offer

Recognized as home to some of the finest beaches in the Northeast, Narragansett, Rhode Island is the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful or fun-filled vacation. While traveling on scenic Ocean Road, visitors get a glimpse of a spectacular architectural structure, the Towers of Narragansett. This well-known landmark evokes scenes from Narragansett’s Victorian past. The bustling Port of Galilee – the second largest commercial fishing port in New England – guarantees the freshest fish on the East Coast. Galilee is also the main port for the Block Island ferries and Rhode Island’s only whale-watching excursion onboard the Gail Frances. It is home to shops, beaches, charter fishing, a fleet of commercial fishing and lobster boats, and of course, fresh seafood restaurants. Experience a whale watch or a leisurely tour of the Harbor and Great Salt Pond. Galilee is also the place to hop the ferry to Block Island. For area visitors who love seafood, fishing or birding, it is a fabulous place to explore.

Come experience fresh seafood at the Coast Guard House or a delectable meal prepared at Trio Restaurant. Pristine beaches, numerous attractions and picturesque lodging make Narragansett, a South County favorite, the entire family will enjoy!

Dramatic coastal views are abundant in Narragansett. The long rockbound stretch of shoreline between Scarborough Beach and the town beach is shelved with a rugged expanse of pink granite. Anywhere along the shoreline – but especially at Hazard Rock or Black Point – are dramatic views of sprawling waterfront estates. At low tide, depressions in the bedrock become tide pools and invite legions of young explorers. Here, fishermen cast off the rocks for anything they can catch.

Narragansett’s town center features one-of-a-kind shops and fine restaurants serving everything from fresh seafood to gourmet French, Italian, Spanish and Chinese cuisine. The town green, bordered by the Towers, is a bustling venue for concerts, festivals, art shows and ice skating in the winter. An awesome vacation spot indeed!
